About Us

Invasive Wild Pig Leadership Group

Canada’s Invasive Wild Pig Leadership Group was formed in 2023 to help implement Canada’s Invasive Wild Pig Strategy 2022-2032. The Leadership Group meets regularly to strategically collaborate and action on the issue of invasive wild pigs in Canada.

Objectives

  • Meet regularly to facilitate coordination of regionally-based network

  • Gather data on invasive wild pigs from regional jurisdictions and agencies involved in control efforts

  • Increase awareness of invasive wild pigs among various audiences
  • Leverage expertise to build on existing regional control and eradication
  • Help track the progress of eradication efforts

Supporting Programs and Organizations

Animal Health Canada is the lead organization supporting the Invasive Wild Pig Leadership Group. Animal Health Canada provides funding to Invasives Canada to coordinate the Invasive Wild Pig Leadership Group and help implement Canada’s Invasive Wild Pig Strategy 2022-2032.
